Event Flow Chart

How to read the 7-day event flow chart showing forwarded, blocked, and scrubbed events.

The Event Flow chart shows a daily breakdown of how events were handled over the last 7 days. Each day is represented as a stacked bar with three segments.

The Three Bar Segments

Each daily bar is divided into three colored segments:

  • Blue (Forwarded) -- Events that passed scrubbing and consent checks, and were successfully sent to at least one destination.
  • Red (Blocked) -- Events that were discarded because the visitor had not granted consent or had explicitly rejected tracking.
  • Amber (Scrubbed) -- Events that were processed and had sensitive fields removed or replaced, but were still forwarded. This segment represents the data protection work done by your scrubbing rules.

The total height of each bar represents all events received by the gateway on that day.

Reading the Chart

Hover over any bar to see the exact counts for that day:

  • Forwarded: the number of events sent to destinations
  • Blocked: the number of events dropped due to consent
  • Scrubbed: the number of fields that were modified by scrubbing rules

Days are labeled along the bottom axis. The chart updates in near real-time as new events arrive.

What to Look For

A healthy event flow typically shows:

  • High blue segment -- Most events are being forwarded successfully.
  • Low red segment -- Most visitors are granting consent. A growing red segment may indicate a consent banner issue or a change in visitor behavior.
  • Consistent amber -- Scrubbing rules are actively protecting data. A sudden drop in the amber segment could mean a rule was disabled or event payloads changed.

A spike in the red segment without a corresponding traffic increase may indicate that your consent banner is not granting consent properly. Check your consent integration in the widget settings.

Time Range

The chart always shows the last 7 calendar days (including today). There is no option to change the time range on the overview page. For longer trend analysis, use the Insights page or export the audit trail.
